Mother's Day
Mother's Day is the best day ever for Missionary Moms. We were able to get all the kids (except Kray) connected. Matt and Jason on Skype and Mike on the phone. We all were together for about 10-15 minutes. Mike called later after he was unable to find a Skype connection.
Of course we invited the missionaries in our ward to come over and chat with their families.
The Great Outdoors & Adventures
Chris hiked up Mt. Pilchuck--the same hike Jessie did last year at girls camp and will do again this year. This was a prep hike for a 50 miler he will be going on this summer.
Alex and Roxy went to Juanita Beach for a great walk.
Training for a marathon has been super easy with the warm weather we have had. I'm running the Newport, Oregon, Marathon with a client, Roy in June.
And Jessie made the RHS dance team for the 2016-17 season! WAY TO GO JESSIE!
Our New Yard
Steve went to help a member of our ward put in a new sod yard. The member bought too much and sold it to Steve. If you know about sod, it has to be laid quickly, so he comes home and tells me to go rent a sod cutter. We then spent the rest of the day ripping up the front yard and laying new sod. We almost had enough to do the whole yard, but we were short by one pallet. We ordered that a week later.
We called in help! Kray was able to come spend a few hours working with us. We needed his muscle to help Steve keep the sod cutter up and moving forward. And once the sod was cut, he was needed in hauling it off. Sod is heavy! We even paid a few friends to come help!
This started a snowball and we pulled down some dead hedges and then cut the rhodies back. Here's hoping they will all grow! But dang! Our front yard has never looked so good.
