Victory Lap

Doreen wanted to run a victory lap so she raised money and ran the Vancouver BC full marathon again. Just after she was diagnoses with Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma in 2009 she signed up to run the 2010 Vancouver half marathon. She thought it would be a good idea to run it in five years so she did. She raised almost all the money she pledged to run and toed the line on May 3rd. The first part was wonderful. It wasn't until mile 18 that the leg cramps started. They continued and grew worse but she fought through them and finished in 4:30--her goal!

Steve was there to support her and she even rode up on the back of his motorcycle. It was a beautiful day and it was a great race.

She says this is her last full marathon. They are brutal and the time away for training is a killer on the family fun. "I know, never say never."

Dance team 2015-16

Jessie made the Redmond High Dance team again. She worked very hard with her mom in getting fit and shined in the try outs. She is looking forward to a very rewarding year.

Youth Conference

Doreen put on her second to last youth conference this year. It was another success. We had two great talks about being a hero and what it takes to be a hero and of course lots of good food. For service this year we helped cut cardboard circles for Cub Scout Day Camp and tied three quilts to be given to the needy.

Matt's Quilt

"Matt, I have to make you a senior quilt. What would you like?" Doreen asked.

"A chess board." was Matt's reply.

Wallace Falls

We took the family on a fun hike in some hot temperatures to Wallace Falls. As we hiked it we realized that we had driven by it many times but never hiked up it. We did! WOW what a hike. Roxy and Alex went with us and were great little hikers but we wore poor Roxy out. She was sick for a solid week! When we were done she plopped herself down into the mud puddle made by the water faucet.
