Built on the Rock
For this year's youth conference the youth of Redmond Stake put on the musical production Built on the Rock. Mike, Matt and Jessie were cast as dancers and Chris (plus all the rest of the youth) were in the chorus. It was stunning!
Mike was cast as a solo dancer supporting a top ballet dancer Jaime Dix. I questioned Howard McComber when he told me what they asked Mike to do. "You realize the last time Mike did any dance or gymnastics was when he was about six in tumble tots." But they got something out of him. At the performance I had chills down my spine as he and Jamie danced.
Jessie was also a soloist in the Water of Mormon and was stunning as well. Matt was cast as one of the Stripling Warriors.

Mother's Day Call
Every missionary mom counts down to three days: Mother's Day, Christmas and Return Day. This month was Mother's Day! I got to talk to Elder Jason Blanding. It was so nice to see his sun kissed cheeks and hear his wonderful deep voice, even if he had a hard time figuring out the English words. It took use 10 minutes to get our connection working, but we used all 60 minutes of our 60 minutes talking! It was so good! My favorite line was, "Do you want to come home?" "No, I love it here."

Room Make Over
Chris got a new room! I promised him that as soon as Kray moved out of his room I would redo his room anyway he wanted. He wanted all the Seattle sports teams on his wall. It wasn't easy, but I did it!
Of course like all good projects there are always those last little details that won't get done until later, so the final photos will come next month or the month after that.

Steve's New Bike
If there is anything I've learned it is that as soon as Steve starts researching a topic I know that he will come to some conclusion and it usually means he is purchasing something. He started looking at bigger and better bikes and came home with this:
One of these days I need to do some research on something. Stay tuned.
