Chris & Hockey

Last year for Chris's birthday we surprised him by taking him to a hockey game. This year we didn't surprise him, we just took him. He invited a friend who was going to move in a month, Mikayla Mikels. It was a fun time! 

After the first score they fans tossed stuffed animals onto the ice. They then gave the animals to police and first responders for kids who might be frightened. Jessie and I were thinking about it and she was the recipient of two such animals when she was hit by a car a few years back. Pretty cool. 

Seahawks Fever

January was filled with Blue and Green Seahawks Fever! As a life long fan (actually I'm older than the franchise) it is fun to see the community come together for such a wonderful uplifting time. People usually don't talk to you while you are pumping gas or in line at the check out stand, but this month it has been full of, "Go Hawks" or "Did you hear...." or "Can't believe that last play." with complete strangers. We are loving it! 

It has even made its way into the pinewood derby cars Steve and I see at pack meetings.
