Back to School & Routine
September means back to school. Jason heads back to BYU where he starts his Junior year studying computer science. Chris begins his first year at Bellevue College Chris is taking a math class, History of Rock and Roll and Music Theory. If he has been paying attention all these years, these classes should be pretty easy for him if he stays on top of the homework load. Jessie starts her very last year at Helaman's Academy. This will be Doreen's very last year teaching her children from home. Doreen isn't sure how she feels about this.
The best thing about going back to school is the steady schedule that it forces us to keep. Wake up at 5 am for scriptures and prayers before Chris and Jessie head off to seminary. Steve and Doreen get in a quick workout while Matt prepares for his job working at the Ranch. Then off to school or work everyone goes. It's nice to be back in the routine and when we are tired of it, Christmas break will be here and the cycle continues.
Matt had to quit his job at Chess for Life because he just wasn't getting the hours he needed, but thankfully Chris was able to pick up the slot. Now if only he can pick up a few more afternoons. Matt is working at Galt Valley Ranch as a ranch hand. He just does about everything you think a ranch hand should be doing. He really misses Chess for Life, but loves all the mechanical stuff he gets to do on the ranch. He continues to work on getting ready for a mission and the hope is that his papers will be soon.
I told Steve that if I got to five years remission I was going to throw a party. Well I did and I did! I had a 5th year remission party. I even put together a 5K in honor of five years remission! It was a potluck and we had a BLAST!
Jessica's football dance season has begun! Practice, practice, practice and then show time! Doreen has volunteered to be the strength and conditioning coach so they are having fun together.
